Diary Alarms
Keep your data collection on schedule. This handy add-on program for Pendragon Forms 5.1 triggers the PDA alarm and creates new a record in the form of your choice. The Diary Alarm program is only available for Palm PoweredTM devices. This is ideal for clinical trials and diary self-report studies.

Diary Alarm User Guide
Installing the Diary Alarm Program
Double-click the DIARYALARM.PRC file that you downloaded. The Palm Quick Install program will run. Select your Palm username and click OK.
Synchronize the handheld to install the Diary Alarm program.

Launching the Program When you tap the Diary Alarm icon, you will be prompted the enter a password. If you not chosen to set a password, just tap the Alarms button to go to the Alarms List screen.
Setting a Password You can choose to password protect the Diary Alarm program. Tap the Settings button on the Alarm List screen to edit your password settings. On the Setting screen, enter a password. You will be asked for this password each time you launch the Diary Alarms program to create or edit an Alarm.
Creating an Alarm Tap the New button on the Alarm List screen to create a new reminder alarm. On the Alarm Detail screen you will choose the alarm Type, Time, the name of the Form that will be launched and the Days for your reminder.
Type & Time Alarms can be set for a Fixed Time such as 9:30 am. Alarms can also be set for a Random Time within a specified Time Period such as 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Fixed Time To set your alarm for a specific time, in the Type field, select Fixed Time. In the Time field, tap the answer box and use the Select Alarm Time dialog to enter your time.
Random in Time Period To set your alarm to ring at a Random Time within a specified Time Period, set the Type field to Random in Time Period. In the Time field, tap the answer box and use the Select Alarm Time Range dialog to select the start and end time.
Form At the specified time, your device alarm will sound. The Pendragon Forms program will be launched and a new record will be created in the selected form. Tap the Select Form button to view a list of forms on your device.
Days Specify the days of the week that your alarm will be used. By default all days are selected. Tap the box for any day to toggle the selection.
Tap the OK button to save your new alarm.
On the Alarm List screen, your alarm will be listed by time and days (e.g. 10:00 am MonWedFri).
Creating Several Alarms Per Day If you need the handheld user to fill in a form several times each day, for example, at 8 a.m., noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., you will need to create a separate alarm for each required timeframe.

Choose the Alarm Type
Select a Fixed Time or a Time Range for your Alarm.
Select the Form that will be launched when the Alarm rings.
Select the days for your Alarm.
Your new Alarm appears in the Alarm List.

Modifying & Deleting an Alarm
Tap the time and days listing for your alarm to modify the reminder.
On the Alarm Detail screen, edit the time and date settings. Tap OK to save the changes.
To delete the alarm, tap the Delete button on the Alarm Detail screen.
