FAQ What is a custom control? A custom control is a special kind of Palm OS shared library that can be called by Pendragon Forms to display a user interface or to process commands.
How do I create a custom control? Shared libraries can be created using the C programming language. Our examples were created using Metrowerks CodeWarrior release 9. Palm OS shared libraries are described in the Palm OS programming documentation and in the Metrowerks CodeWarrior documentation.
The Control Developer Kit contains documentation and sample source code for creating custom controls.
Can I distribute my custom control for free? Can I sell my custom control? Yes. We encourage developers to build custom controls for use with Pendragon Forms and the Pendragon Forms Distribution Toolbox.
How will my custom control interact with the Pendragon Forms Manager? Pendragon Forms custom controls are usually distributed as part of a package that facilitates the control’s use on a handheld device, and also the ability to design forms that will use the control. The package usually includes the custom control PRC file, a set of registry entries, a preview bitmap image and a documentation file.
