Overview:

Midam Metal Forming provides customized precision stretch forming for the aerospace and commercial construction industries.   

Before using Pendragon Forms handheld applications, inventory and project data for the custom metal working shop was collected on a three-copy paper inventory sheet.  The information was re-copied onto a work order and finally the same information was copied again for shipping paperwork.  Walker summarizes the system as a "huge paper trail."

Workflow in the custom metal-working shop is driven by the availability of materials, so forms were developed to receive inventory and trigger subsequent work processes.   When new materials arrive, inventory data is collected on the handheld along with specific information needed for materials, work orders, and shipping. Several PC workstations are located throughout the shop to facilitate synchronization.  After synchronization, all processes are automatically updated with the new information. 

Development Time:

Developing the Pendragon Forms applications was completed in about three percent of the time required to set up the databases.
